Nozzle Design Improvements
The nozzles are machined from 17-4PH stainless steel to combat erosion and produce long lasting service. Hexagonal bosses are machined onto each end of the individual nozzles so they can be easily serviced without damaging the ribs.
The nozzle spacer (316 stainless) that sets the stack into the body features a 7/8” internal hex, so the stack can be easily removed with an Allen key.
Unlike the manufactures of the early 1900’s, nozzles will be made exactly the same from one injector to the next, so the same high level of performance can be expected on every unit.
Other Improvements
To the best of my knowledge, this is the first time an injector has been made with 316 stainless steam and water valve stems. This will provide extra corrosion resistance and durability for a long service life. The steam valve features a spherical seat for a reliable seal with the steam nozzle.
The pipe connections also feature an internal 3/4” hex so an Allen key can be used to easily install the injector. No special tools required!
The overflow chamber is notably generous for the size of the nozzles, which allows for easy priming even with the injector is hot.
